Jakkar Vanam – Greening the future

In an inspiring step toward sustainable living and ecological restoration, Yaan Foundation, in collaboration with Vanam India Foundation, launched the Jakkar Vanam program in June 2024. The vision to transform Sirukalanthai village into a lush, green landscape by planting and nurturing thousands of saplings.

After securing the necessary government approvals, the project officially began in October 2024. Within one year, over 10,000 saplings have been planted across Village ponds, Along roadsides, Community gardens, Residential surroundings.

And the journey is far from over the plantation drive is still actively continuing, and regular maintenance and care are also being carried out to ensure the healthy growth and survival of each sapling.

The program also received valuable support from local patrons, who contributed water for certain phases, recognizing the holistic benefits this initiative brings to the entire village.

Jakkar Vanam is more than just a tree-planting initiative. It is a mission to:
