Yaan Foundation, in collaboration with We the Leaders Foundation Tamil Nadu and Erode Siragukal, participated in AK SpoGomi 2026 – The Sport of Cleaning, a waste collection competition organised to promote environmental responsibility and build a cleaner, greener tomorrow.

Held on 27 September 2026 at Kodiveri Dam, Erode, the initiative brought together students, youngsters, corporate teams, NGOs, and community groups to turn waste collection into an engaging and meaningful activity.

The competition encouraged teams of three to collect non-hazardous waste, including PET bottles, plastic covers, single-use plastics, and food wrappers, within 45 minutes. With a jury-based scoring system and cash prizes for the top three teams, the event combined teamwork, active participation, and environmental awareness.

Through this initiative, Yaan Foundation continues to encourage responsible waste management, promote recycling, and inspire communities to take an active role in protecting the environment. The programme highlighted the importance of collective action in reducing plastic pollution and maintaining clean public spaces.

Cleaner City, Greener Tomorrow! Together, let us compete, collect, and recycle for a sustainable future.
